PROJECT BLACKBIRD INC. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to de-stigmatizing conversations around eating disorders and mental health within all communities. The organization provides free therapy and other mental health resources for students across the nation through their touring program, empowering participants towards recovery and self-acceptance.

This event is a screening of the award-winning short film “Blackbird”, followed by discussions with cast members, public figures sharing lived experience (actors, athletes, artists, etc.), and healthcare professionals.

It concludes with a journaling activity, the free therapy initiative, and resource fair with local and national resources. PROJECT BLACKBIRD INC. partners with NAMI and Talkspace to bring this program to colleges, high schools, and communities across the nation.

CEs will only be available free to those who attend the live webinar. Attendance will be monitored. If you register but do not attend, you can purchase CE access after the webinar is recorded. NBHAP members get it for free.

Alexandra Miles

Alexandra Miles is the founder/CEO of PROJECT BLACKBIRD.

She is a Washington, D.C. based producer, actor and non-profit founder with a focus on mental health impact. Founder of the related non-profit PROJECT BLACKBIRD INC., Alexandra tours high school and college campuses with the ‘Project Blackbird’ short film and pairs this screening with athletes, actors and other public figure guest panelists sharing their lived experience around mental health.

Alexandra has screened and been featured as a speaker at Sundance Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival, the UN General Assembly, SxSW, TIFF (‘24), amongst numerous conferences and university presentations and speaking engagements.

Sonra Kronberg

Sondra Kronberg, MS, RD, CEDS-S, is a certified eating disorders specialist, clinical nutritionist therapist with 40 years of experience as a recognized leader in the field. She trains professionals, is a national workshop leader, author, speaker, and spokesperson who appears regularly on television to promote eating disorder awareness.

She is a founding member of the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA), certification faculty instructor for the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (eaedp), the founder and executive director of Eating Disorder Treatment Collaborative and host of the Support Community venue and the Chats in the Living Room podcast. Sondra specializes in the treatment and training of the collaborative approach to eating wellness, orthorexia, anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorder. She is the author of the Comprehensive Learning Teaching Handout Series manual.

She has received numerous awards for her trainings, treatment protocols, and contributions to eating disorder awareness. Her passion is to help people move past the constraint of their eating disorder to live full lives and thrive.
