Advocacy Alert: Looking for Stories of Medicaid and SUDs
May 22, 2025
Medicaid plays a key role in access to care for people dealing with substance use and mental health issues, as well as histories of arrest and conviction, and is vital to addressing the overdose crisis still claiming nearly 300 lives every day.
If Medicaid has played a role in your recovery or re-entry, we invite you to share your story via the Legal Action Center. To help spread the word about the below stories and the call to protect Medicaid, they also have an amplification toolkit full of resources and tips.
Simply include your name, city/state, and how Medicaid has enhanced your life. Feel free to also forward this request onto your peers. Your story is important!
