Advocacy Alert: Oppose White House Rule that Would Politicize & Likely Cut Federal Grants

July 9, 2026

via Collier Collective, LLC

Recently, the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) proposed a rule that would harm communities nationwide by politicizing and likely reducing access to federal grants, cooperative agreements, and technical assistance (TA).

If implemented as proposed, this new rule could reduce access to federal funding for critical programs that support long-standing, successful services for individuals and families impacted by the criminal legal system, including reentry, job training, education, health care, nutrition, housing, and other programs.

Please call your Representative and two Senators to urge Congress to block implementation of this harmful rule!

  • To identify your Representative and two Senators, please visit Ballotpedia’s Who represents me?
  • Call the Capitol Switchboard at 202-224-3121 and ask for your Representative or Senators by name.
  • If you have to leave a voicemail, don’t forget to state your full address to ensure your call is counted!

A suggested call script can be found here.

You can also submit a comment, describing how the rule will harm you, your organization, and your community by using this comment guide.

If you want to learn more about the proposed rule, you can:
