Webinar: 2024 Mid-Year Advocacy Update

The flag of the United States of America flying in front of the capitol building blurred in the background. Text reads '2024 Mid-Year Advocacy Update'.

This webinar will look at the progress being made in Washington D.C. as we continue to advocate for advances in SUD policy. Our priorities continue to be a stronger workforce, better reimbursement options, expanded medication access, and increased recovery support services.

While we continue to chalk up some wins, more often than not we are frustrated by the lethargic pace of Washington in 2024. The inability of several entities to disregard partisanship has cost us valuable time, and more importantly, valuable funding. Several important pieces of legislation have been held up due to the politics of a presidential campaign year, a problem being compounded by a Congress that is increasingly more inexperienced year after year.

This does not, however, mean we are incapable of making progress. There are other levers to pull, and in the last several months, changes have been made that will benefit the provision of SUD services around the nation. These changes impact telehealth, medication assisted treatment, the growth of the peer workforce, and more.

Join us as we take a look at policies that we have managed to pass, and policies that have been forced to languish in Congressional purgatory.
