This one-hour webinar gives a brief understanding of various legal topics that are trending in the behavioral health industry.
Walter Boone discusses the current litigation of opioid litigation. The largest litigation in the nation's history, this has produced billions in settlements by opioid manufacturers and distributors. He will report on the progress, including major settlements, fund disbursement, culture trends, and upcoming trials.
In our second segment, "Are You Leaving Money on the Table? Reimbursement Related to Substance Abuse Services", Bea Tolsdorf presents the trends related to coverage of substance abuse services. If your facility provides services that are potentially reimbursable by Medicaid or another third-party payor source, you'll need to know the rules and requirements related to receiving this reimbursement. She will outline how inpatient and outpatient substance abuse services are covered, and what trends are happening.
Next up is Christina Marie Nuñez and "Defining the (Work) Relationship: Entering into Agreements with Employees". Do you have written agreements with every employee? If so, what do they say? Are they a standard form or unique? Christina provides an overview of the types of agreements that may be applicable to common types of workplace arrangements in the behavioral health setting as well as key components and practical provisions of each agreement.
The final segment of the webinar is on keys to consider for a successful business structure. Starting a new business is exciting, but requires you and your new business partners to make a lot of decisions fast. M. Patrick Everman outlines the importance in planning and implementing successful organizational structures, operating agreements, and management agreements. It gives you an overview of the issues you may face, the choices you may have, and the correct way to approach them.
