IC&RC Hires Mark Attanasi as New Executive Director

Global leader in the credentialing of prevention, substance use treatment, and recovery professionals, International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC), Board of Directors have announced the appointment of Mark Attanasi as the new Executive Director of IC&RC. Mark, who brings plentiful experience, officially began his new role in November.

A native of New Jersey, who now lives in Oklahoma, Mark has served as the Treasurer of IC&RC for the last 6 years. He brings a wealth of knowledge to his new role as he served as the Executive Director of the Oklahoma Drug & Alcohol Professional Counselor Association since 2010. Moreover, Attanasi brings over 21 years of non-profit leadership experience, and has been in the behavioral health field since 1999.

Mark’s extensive professional and personal achievements include the following:

  • Helped with creating a Native American Certification in the State of Oklahoma with the Southern Plains Tribal Health Board
  • NIATX STAR-SI Change Leader
  • Successful restaurant entrepreneur of two restaurants
  • Partnered with the Oklahoma Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, developing the “Domestic Violence Awareness Program”
  • Husband, father, and grandfather
  • Highly recruited out of High School in baseball by the Cincinnati Reds and Milwaukee Brewers.

Attanasi is highly motivated to guide IC&RC through an expected growth period for the organization. In his new role of Executive Director of IC&RC, he manages all day-to-day operations for the world’s leading professional credentialing organization.

IC&RC is a 73 member certification and licensing board that represents more than 50,000 professionals and promotes public protection by setting standards and developing examinations for the credentialing and licensing of prevention, substance use treatment, and recovery professionals.
