Press Release: Behavioral Health Association of Providers Develops Nationally-Recognized Marketing Credential

January 16, 2019

CAMS: Certified Admissions and Marketing Specialist

Partnering with the California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals (CCAPP), this is a nationally-recognized credential in addiction treatment marketing.

The Behavioral Health Association of Providers (BHAP) is pleased to announce that they are working with the California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals (CCAPP) in developing the Certified Admissions and Marketing Specialist (CAMS) credential.

"This credential empowers the recipient to represent themselves as the ethical and informed professional that they have worked very hard to become," stated the COO of BHAP, Andrew Martin. "It sets them apart from those in the industry who lack the formal education and extensive experience in the substance use disorder admissions and marketing profession."

Starting February 20, BHAP will be offering live versions of courses in their Certificate in Addiction Treatment Marketing (C-ATM) at CCAPP's facilities in Long Beach. The CAMS / C-ATM series includes all six of the C-ATM courses in a live workshop format and online. Each live training will take place on the 3rd Wednesday of the month and the courses will revolve with each month.

The six courses can be taken in any order and at any time, and a mixture of online learning and live workshops are acceptable. The CAMS/C-ATM is only available as a complete series.

"We developed the C-ATM in order to help substance use disorder industry professionals to become informed of the extensive laws surrounding healthcare marketing and compensation practices," Martin continued. "It's gratifying that a world-class organization such as California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals (CCAPP) is accepting the C-ATM educational workshops and online training to satisfy the educational requirements of the CAMS credential."

"The Certified Admissions and Marketing Specialist helps protect the people, and supports individuals who recognize and practice ethical marketing practices," states Pete Nielsen, Chief Executive Officer of CCAPP. "This certificate trains individuals to develop competency in the area of AOD client relations, ensuring ethical practices are developed and implemented in AOD treatment programs."

This workshop series includes all six C-ATM classes as well as CCAPP's CAMS credential application fees, which the participant is eligible for once completing the six courses and other CCAPP requirements. The overall cost will be $2,300, with BHAP members getting a discounted price of $1,800, and dual members of BHAP and CCAPP are eligible for an additional discount.
